Description
To survive the vicissitudes of life is thus to survive life's ups and downs. Vicissitude is a descendant of the the Latin noun vicis, meaning change or alternation, It has been a part of the English language since the 16th century.
I imagined traveling down a winding road through the foothills. I was thinking of going through the ups and downs of life. Life doesn't go in a straight line. It twists and turns.
Things aren't always black and white. There are shades of gray.
Sometimes the twists and turns resemble something else. Could it be the beginning of a new life?
