Description
A Dog's Life
It is brunch time in Winter Park, Florida. I was having an ice cream with my son when we noticed this group of people. There were actually quite a few more than I indicated. All of them had a dog at their feet. All the dogs had a little rug to lie on except for one.
The only man in the scene is oblivious to everything around him. He was concentrating on his mobile phone. The woman next to him was like-wise concentrating on her mobile phone. She too, didn't interact with those around her. The woman to her right looked as if she might be her mother. I guessed that the man might have been her father. The mother wasn't paying attention to her daughter or husband. She seemed most interested in talking to the woman to her other side. They seemed to be having quite an animated conversation. The woman on the far right was quietly eating and not talking.
It looked as if the four identical glasses near the middle of the left table had four mimosas. Their were other types of glasses and drinks on the stainless steel tables. A stainless steel bowl was beneath each of the two tables. I assume that they were full of water for the dogs. The chairs were made of stainless steel with blue cushions.
Trees from the park across the street reflected in the restaurant windows. Poinsietta plants were in the planter in front of one side of the restaurant. This particular location was on Park Avenue in Winter Park. It is near Rollins College, which is just a few blocks away. I guess that the young women might be students having brunch with their parents.
I didn't know any of the people. I found them interesting because of the dogs and the way they were interacting. It seemed like such a typical scene for our generation in Winter Park. Winter Park is an area next to Orlando, Florida. It is mostly a relatively upscale community with a comfortable ambiance.
