Description
I moved to Sicily, Italy when I was a young woman. I had only done a few oil paintings in my life. I didn't speak Italian and found it difficult to buy art materials. I was figuring out how to paint with materials marked in various languages. I couldn't find anything in English. This is one of my early oil paintings. I was still learning by myself. I did it plein air near Siracusa. I seem to remember that the trees were Eucalyptus. A local woman was watching me and told me that Mussolini had planted them all over to hide the military when they moved.
The canvas is 35cm by 48cm.
