Description
We walked along the beach on November 10, 2022, the day after Hurricane Nicole came ashore on the east coast of central Florida. This painting is based on a scene that we saw on Cocoa Beach. A huge barrel was stranded on the beach. It was apparently an anchor for a buoy. A couple of people cut away the huge mega thick mooring line attached to it. They staggered under the weight of it as they walked away down the beach. I took several pictures of the anchor after they left. It was probably full of concrete. I was amazed to think how powerful the storm must have been to break this anchor free of the buoy and wash it up on the beach!
This impressionistic acrylic painting is on a 30” by 40” stretched premium canvas.
