Description
While awaiting our friend's arrival on the train at the Winter Park Train Station in Florida, we watched the goings on. I took a few photographs of this man working aboard the train. I don't know what his position title is. I am guessing that he was a conductor. He seemed to be checking for passengers on his list. He later used a walkie talkie to talk to someone.
Winter park depot was built in 1882 by the South Florida Railroad. Ten years after it built a line from Sanford to Orlando. A newer passenger station was in use by the railroad until 1982. It was then purchased by the city. It is now used as a farmer's market. It is also a venue for weddings and other special events. A newer modern station was built by the ACL in 1962. It is directly adjacent to a large city park known as Central Park. It was located one block away from Park Avenue. That is lined with upscale boutiques and restaurants.
