Description
I did this painting many years ago. I believe that it was in 1974. I was about to move to Italy. My parents lived in Key West, Florida. I was visiting them before my departure.
While there, we drove around the area a fair amount to see the sights. I was enchanted with the swamps. I had never seen Spanish moss. As a Californian, I wasn't used to seeing such places. This isn't meant to depict any one specific place. I was just painting an impression based on memories once I was back home.
I loved the graceful great egrets. I had never seen them before the visit. This is an oil painting on a 20 inch by 15 inch stretched canvas.
I hadn't seen this painting in all these years. I had given it to my parents as a gift. Last year, while visiting with one of my brothers, he showed me several paintings that I had done. I had forgotten about them. It was kinda fun to see them again. Was delighted that my brother had them.
Now I live in Florida.
