Description
Soft warm light glows through the canopy of round green leaves. The sunlight bounces around and ricochets through the tangled branches and trunks. The neurographic branches add a sense of intimate other-worldliness to the peaceful scene. Smaller branches and shoots snuggle in the spaces between the larger ones; small thickets within the larger ones. A thick mat of dead leaves litter the ground. This is the inland side of the dunes by the sea. The sandy beach lies beyond. You can barely hear the gentle sound of the surf. It feels magical in the shade with dappled light twinkling throughout the understory of this thick forest of sea grape trees. I felt compelled to paint this tranquil sparkling world.
I made sure to include a couple of bunches of sea-grapes. They are intended to be part of the composition but not the main part. Though not true grapes, these fruits are edible. The taste is often compared to muscadine grapes. Sea-grapes are beautiful and tasty.
Although it is a bit difficult to find because of it's camouflage, there is a cute little tree frog sheltering in this relaxing world. Perhaps, you can find it?

Lovely and colorful artwork. I think I spotted the frog. Is it the blue spot on the tree at the bottom left?
AnnaJo Vahle replied:
Thank you, Carole. It is on the same tree as the blue spot but it is above the leaf that is above the blue.

AnnaJo, this is the most AMAZING and “challenging” Neurographic feature opportunity I have had to date!! The sea grape addition might be argued to be the “neuron” component …although it is a cluster rather than formed from the interstices themselves. I just happened to be watching a Neuro-documentary tonight which offered real-life-2023-neural “clusters”…where does this fit between Neurographica “criteria” (according to 2014 Piskarev) and artistic license ?…You have offered a detailed item description of your “Neurographic process, criteria and having taken “a sense of intimate otherworldliness”, sunlit energy and “compelling feeling” into this painting; therefore, it appears you have satisfied Neurographic criteria in a Masterful painting of jungle tangle Neurographica with offside trunk lines…and yes, even a frog! MASTERFUL and well defended! BRAVA!…this not only stretched the limits of definition, it BLEW past them. ..FAV

AnnaJo Vahle replied:
Thank you so much, Laurel. I really wasn't sure if it would actually fit the definition. It seemed to me that Mother Nature made it that way so that I would be compelled to paint it. Thank you so much for your thoughtful words. You are always so gracious in the way that you encourage me.
