Marcus and Matthew spend a Christmas morning on their porch. They are intently helping each other assemble a train set. The Florida sun shone brightly upon them. It is a happy scene of the brothers enjoying each other's company.

Spectacular Christmas composition, lighting, shading, colors and artwork! F/L voted for this piece in the contest YOUR BEST CHRISTMAS GREETING

Dear AnnaJo, I always learn so much from your Behind-the -scenes BUZzz. I love how you shared your liberal use of colour with us. Often, plein aire painters try to capture the EXACT colours of Nature rather than intuitively paint by warmth and coolness, FEELING their way by physical sight rather than the Magic of intuitive sight. The MAGIC of accidental misplacements and value study is an arena in which you excel. I find your work GLOWs in spectral Light of soul rather than …merely exists…in its physical beauty! Your family portraits are priceless heirlooms.

I am honored by your high praise and encouragement, Laurel. Thank you very very much.

It's heartwarming to see the boys' growth recorded so lovingly--but not sentimentally--in oils, AnnaJo...

This brings back memories and it's not just boys that liked train sets. This is wonderful and a great sense of sibling comraderie! v/f
AnnaJo Vahle replied:
Thank you, Lenore. I agree. I used to play trains with my brothers when I was little.

Thank you, Debbie. The walls of my home are a bit like a big album of images of their lives.
