Description
This still life painting is based on my Valentine's Day. When I got the rose, I thought to do a simple painting of it. The composition seemed to need more so I included the box of chocolates. Still...it needed more. I added some of the strawberries that we got, too. Then...it seemed that the composition was still lacking so I added the Valentine's Day card. That seemed to do the trick. I painted it all alla prima from life.
Once again, I had to deal with the challenge of our cat trying to help herself to the goodies. Oddly, she just smelled the chocolate and nibbled on the rose leaves.This is a 14” by 18” acrylic painting on stretched canvas.
