Description
While working on "Big Bertha," I had a great white egret upon a nest. It was situated as a counterpoint to the big alligator in the foreground. It seemed to grab all the attention from the alligator. I wanted the gator to be the star not the egret. I removed the egret before it was completely finished.

AnnaJo, I love the versions…your process…and am thoroughly enjoying your phases of development. I often follow a similar process, especially when painting from imagination…this one is all the more mysterious with the backstory…and I wish you had saved the phase with the great white before painting it out! Each must have had a different mystique…WONDERful!
