Description
It was a quiet...very quiet morning at the Pisgah Inn. This was the first time that I saw the view from there.
Jim wanted to show me the view. We drove to North Carolina from Florida. It took us a few leisurely days of driving to get there. He had booked us a room at the Pisgah Inn. It is such a popular destination that getting a room hadn't been all that easy.
Natural breezes and mountain views provide a comfortable atmosphere for guests to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. Pisgah Inn has been accommodating guests since the first Pisgah Inn opened in 1919.
He wanted to treat me to a breakfast of buckwheat pancakes. Of course, they don't serve them anymore! However, it was a lovely inn and a charming restaurant. We had a delicious breakfast...it just wan't the buckwheat pancakes. We spent the night there in a comfortable suite. It had a rustic appeal.
The next morning wasn't quite as foggy but it was a bit chilly for me. Remember, I live in Florida. Mountains and chilly weather are not my everyday experience. I enjoyed driving around all the curving mountain roads seeing one fabulous vista after another.
I loved the misty magical view. Peaceful. Quiet...very quiet. I couldn't see very far but it was lovely.
